The symposium will take place at the vonRoll Building of the University of Bern located from 10:00 till 17:00, followed by an Apéro.

Objective

Steroid research investigates the biosynthesis, catabolism, biological activity and physiological effects of steroid hormones, encompassed in the study of endocrinology. During the Swiss Steroid Symposium 2025, Swiss researchers will present and discuss their latest steroid research findings, kick-starting Swiss-orientated collaborations for future investigations.

Significance

Bringing highly trained Swiss specialist in the field of steroid hormones together will provide a view into the state and position of steroid research in Switzerland and will spark conversations on new research avenues, future collaborative grant applications and updates concerning current running projects ―with the end goal of promoting steroid research in Switzerland.

Directions to venue

By public transport from Bern, Hauptbahnhof: Postbus 101 Schlossmatt, Güterbahnhof stop (followed by a 3 min walk) or Bus 20 Länggasse, Länggasse stop (followed by a 8 min walk).

By car: Take the A12 and exit at ‘Forsthaus’; Parking available at ‘Inselspital’ which is on site, however with limited parking space available.

Lunch, coffee, tea & water

Lunch will be served in the Fabrikstrasse 8 building (Mense vonRoll). Coffee, tea and snacks will be served in the ground floor foyer. The Apéro will also be served in the ground floor foyer.

The University of Bern has Eduroam access. Eduroam is a worldwide roaming service and can be accessed using your home-university account.

Photos of attendees and speakers will be taken throughout the symposium, which will be subsequently published online on social media platforms. If you wish not to be photographed, please inform one of the symposium organisers.
